GEICO SportsNite: BNNY discusses Mets recent offensive struggles

10:50 pm: Lagares said he'll attempt to swing a bat in two or three days. He also noted that he only has a partial tear of the ligament in his thumb and is hopeful of avoiding surgery.

Mets manager Terry Collins said that the outfielder's thumb was doing a little better when he arrived Monday night, but is still swollen.

The Mets are telling reporters that they'll take two to three days to determine whether Lagares can play through the injury, while further determining whether he can punt surgery in to the offseason.
