ATLANTA — Mets lefty reliever Antonio Bastardo admitted he has had some good days. And a lot of bad ones. Like Sunday.
Bastardo came on in the eighth inning and was charged with three earned runs without recording an out. In his last 13 games, dating to May 18, Bastardo has pitched 12 ¹/u2083 innings and surrendered 14 earned runs, a 10.22 ERA. That ballooned his season mark to 5.46.
“Physically, everything is OK. I’m just having some trouble with my fastball command and just locating my pitches. I need to make some mechanical adjustments,” Bastardo said, insisting a mechanical flaw is at fault.
