In 2024, Francisco Lindor gave the Mets the kind of season they envisioned when trading for him back in 2021 and signing him to a then-franchise record 10-year, $341 million deal. Not to say he hasn’t been good since coming to Queens—he has, save for a supremely subpar 2021—but he put together not just his best season as a Met, but one of the best regular seasons ever by a Mets’ position player.
Lindor became the fourth Met ever to finish second in NL MVP voting, joining franchise legends Tom Seaver (1969), Keith Hernandez (1984), and Darryl Strawberry (1988).
