Flexen exits with blister on right index finger

DENVER -- Mets rookie starter Chris Flexen exited Wednesday's game against the Rockies after three innings with a blister on his right index finger.

Flexen started with two scoreless innings, but then allowed five runs on six hits in the third, including a two-run home run by Carlos Gonzalez. In his MLB debut last Thursday, Flexen lasted just three innings against the Padres, giving up four runs (three earned).

This time, Flexen allowed five earned runs on eight hits and one walk, striking out two.

The Mets trailed, 5-0, when Flexen left.
