The Mets fell in heart wrenching fashion to the Royals in game 1 of the World Series, 5-4. Jeurys Familia blew his first save since June 30th, giving up a game tying home run to Alex Gordon with one out in the ninth. That erased solid outings from Matt Harvey and Addison Reed, as well as a bouncing ball from Wilmer Flores that got by Eric Hosmer at first as a near perfect analogue of the Bill Buckner play of 1986.
