While the first game of the Mets’ and Rockies’ doubleheader in the mountains went to the Mets, by way of some late heroics by Jonathan Villar and Francisco Lindor, game two was far less kind to them, as they dropped it by the score of 7-2.
The game got off to an auspicious start and followed from there, as the Mets were retired in order in the top of the first by the ace of the Rockies staff, Germán Márquez. Joey Lucchesi, making his first start as a member of his new club, did not fare as well as his counterpart.
