The Mets dropped an awful loss to the Pirates by a score of 6-5. They had a 5-0 lead in the first inning after the offense beat up on Pirates’ starter Chase De Jung. Francisco Lindor hit a two-run blast and Michael Conforto got off the schneid with a three-run bomb to center. But the offense went quiet from there.
Aaron Loup opened for the Mets and started the game with two scoreless innings. Jerad Eickhoff followed and threw two scoreless of his own, but then ran into trouble in the fifth when he surrendered back-to-back homers.
