Jacob deGrom was great but faltered late and once again the Met offense failed him in their 5-0 loss to the Pirates.
The offense certainly had plenty of chances but as per usual on deGrom days they failed to come up with the big hit. They had runners on in all the middle innings and even loaded the bases in the fourth with one out. After a walk to Jeff McNeil, Devin Mesoraco swung at the first pitch and grounded into a double play to end the threat.
