After Jacob deGrom was scratched due to neck stiffness, Walker Lockett got the call to start for the Mets. The Mets took an early lead, scoring a run on a ground out in the first and another in the top of the second on a single from Luis Guillorme. The Phillies tied the game in the bottom half of the inning on a pair of singles runners in scoring position. The Mets immediately took the lead back in the top of the third when Dominic Smith and Robinson Cano hit back to back home runs to put the Mets up 4-2.
