The Mets didn’t show up on either side of the ball, dropping the final game of the series against the Phillies 6-0. Jason Vargas was good by his standards, allowing only one run in 4.2 innings. Robert Gsellman stumbled in the eighth, however, giving up three runs to put the game out of reach. To add insult to injury, Rhys Hoskins took Jacob Rhame deep in the ninth, putting the revenge-flavored icing on the cake.
On the offensive side, there were chances for the Mets but, they went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.
