It’s hard to believe the Mets were actually leading at one point in tonight’s game. When Pete Alonso hit a rocket of a two-run homer that clocked in at 111.2 mph in the first, you would forgive any Mets fan for feeling good about the club’s chances against the last-place Baltimore Orioles. But it was all downhill from there, as the Mets were crushed 10-3 at Camden Yards in the first game of their two-game series.
The Mets only managed four hits and three runs, bookmarking the game with homers from Alonso in the first to make it 2-0, and in the ninth to make it 10-3.
