Final Score: Mets 9, Nationals 4 — There it is again, that funny feeling

The Mets accomplished a feat today that they’ve only accomplished one other time in the month of August: they won a series. Both series wins this month came against the Nationals. They beat Washington today by a score of 9-4 to take the final two games of the series and win two games in a row for the first time since that sweep of the Nationals nearly three weeks.

The highlight is obviously that nine spot in the run column for the Mets, which is a cornucopia of runs for this Mets team. It was the most they’ve scored in a game since July 19, and it was just the 3rd time this month that the Mets have scored at least 7 runs in a game, and those three games represent half of their six wins in August.
