The Mets defeated the Red Sox 8-0 tonight at Fenway Park. In what was essentially a bullpen game for the Sox, the Mets teed off against Boston, putting up four home runs against the best team in baseball.
Jay Bruce had himself a game, driving in the first four runs on a double and home run. Jeff McNeil added a solo home run of his own in the fourth inning, giving the Mets a five run lead.
Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets, and looked strong. Over seven shutout innings, Syndergaard struck out six, giving up three walks and three hits.
