For the second game in three days, the Mets came back from a sizable deficit. But this time, they managed to pull out a victory.
Rick Porcello did not fare any better against the Orioles offense than Michael Wacha did, putting the Mets in a 2-0 hole in the first inning. The Mets cut the Orioles’ lead in half off Jorge Lopez in the second inning thanks to a Jeff McNeil RBI single, but did not put together the big inning. The Orioles piled on Porcello in the third, adding three runs to extend their lead to 5-1.
