Final score: Mets 7, Diamondbacks 6—Bats and bullpen battle and beat the ‘Backs

After what started out as a battle of the bats, the Mets and Diamondbacks settled into a battle of the bullpens. The Mets and Diamondbacks both started out big, each scoring five runs across the first two innings of the game. For the Mets, they got six hits before recording a single out, including a James McCann three run home run. The Diamondbacks responded with a two run homer from Ketel Marte and knocked out Peterson in the first inning before he could record two outs. Madison Bumgarner exited after two innings, and the bullpens kept the run scoring to a minimum after that.
