In the wake of classic Mets drama yesterday, Jacob deGrom came out and once again showed his tremendous skill and grit.
Jacob deGrom gave the Mets six innings of great pitching, allowing only two runs and five hits, striking out ten while only walking one. This was in spite of a rough fifth inning which is when he gave up the two runs, throwing over 25 pitches in that inning alone. Jeurys Familia had a tough inning where after striking out Dansby Swanson, one of Atlanta’s most potent hitters, he had trouble getting out of the inning, giving up a single, a double, and a walk, loading the bases.
