Final Score: Mets 6, Nationals 4 — Shoe-in

The Mets B-Squad took an up and down match-up with the Nationals, defeating them 6-4 in dramatic fashion. Even with a lineup full of part time role players, the Mets were able to defeat Stephen Strasburg and the beleaguered Nats’ bullpen.

Steven Matz started for the Mets, and while he gave up a lot of hard contact, limited the Nationals to just one run; a run scored in spectacularly stupid fashion, to boot. Matz went six innings, giving up one run, ten hits, and two walks, while striking out seven.
