The Mets beat the Marlins 6-5 in a wild extra-inning affair in Miami. The Mets jumped out to an early 2-0 against Marlins opener John Curtiss. Francisco Lindor smacked an RBI double that drove in Jonathan Villar to put the Mets on the board. Lindor then scored while tagging up on a fly ball when the throw from the outfield to third base got away from Brian Anderson.
Marcus Stroman gave a run back in the second and worked around some traffic on the bases early, but settled in to have a strong outing, at one point striking out five Marlins in a row.
