The Mets looked poised to lose to the Marlins in a suspended game from April 11th that, despite what your brain and eyes tell you, was not officially part of a doubleheader. Taijuan Walker technically relieved Marcus Stroman, but went four and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on a bevy of hits in the second and fifth innings. In the sixth inning, reliever Heath Hembree gave up a pair of runs due to a collision in shallow right field between Michael Conforto and Jeff McNeil.
Aside from a solo home run by Jonathan Villar, the Mets failed to take advantage of any offensive opportunities, leading to just one run crossing the plate.
