Final Score: Mets 6, Giants 3-Jeff the Giant slayer

After being shut down for eighteen straight innings, the Mets’ offense finally broke out late to give the Mets a 6-3 victory.

They were behind early when Steven Matz gave up a two-run home run to Evan Longoria in the first, but he settled in nicely after that. He had a shortened outing and his night was over after five innings. He gave up just two hits and struck out five.

Corey Oswalt entered the game after Matz departed and was excellent in three innings of relief.
