As the Mets took down the Braves 6-3 to take control of the top spot in the division, the future of the offense was the star of the show. All of the Mets runs came home off the bats of Amed Rosario and Pete Alonso who drove in four and two of the runs, respectively.
The story of this game cannot be told without mentioning Pete Alonso’s 454 foot, 118.3 mph home run in the seventh inning. The fielders could do nothing but watch as the ball flew over the center field wall, past the batter’s eye, and splashed down in the fountain.
