The Mets offense was buoyed by Francisco Lindor, as the superstar shortstop drove in all five runs on the back of two home runs (in the first and fifth innings), both of which were absolutely obliterated. He also tacked on an RBI single in the third inning, following David Peterson’s first career hit, which was a beautifully struck double in the right center field gap.
Speaking of our lanky lefty, Peterson was solid again for the second straight start, though unfortunately he did not qualify for the win. He surrendered only two hits over 4.2 innings, striking out six.
