Final Score: Mets 5, Marlins 3—The Báez Game

The Mets stopped their three game losing streak Wednesday night, beating the Marlins 5-3. The win was powered by some late inning runs in the top of the eighth, highlighted by an opposite field solo homer from Javy Báez which put the Mets in the lead.

The Mets scored their first three runs of the night in a wild second inning, where none of the three runs scored on a base hit. The craziest of the three runs came when Javy Báez slid headfirst into home, pulling his left hand back, and going around the tag with his right hand.
