On a chilly, damp afternoon in Queens, the Mets defeated the Brewers 5-2 in the final game of their three-game series. After two high scoring contests, this game was a much tighter affair, until some breathing room was put between the teams in the eighth inning.
Steven Matz started for the Mets and had his second straight really fine outing. Over seven innings, Matz gave up just two runs on a Mike Moustakis homerun, while striking out four and walking none. Seth Lugo and Edwin Diaz shut the door behind Matz with two scoreless innings.
