After having his previous start on Sunday cut short due to rain, Marcus Stroman went back to the mound for Game 2 of the Mets’ doubleheader against the Phillies. Any fears that his routine would be disrupted after the Sunday kerfuffle were quickly dissipated, as the Amazins’ number two started tossed six shutout innings and led the Mets to a 4-0 victory.
Most of the Mets’ offensive damage came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when the bats put up a three spot. Following his walk-off hit earlier in the day, Jonathan Villar got the scoring started with an RBI double to score one.
