Final Score: Mets 2, Reds 1—Every day should be THORSDAY

Noah Syndergaard went eight strong innings as the Mets stretched their winning streak to two games.

On a day in which the Mets held a joint press conference with their manager and general manager to announce the arrival of the next top pitching prospect to the majors, the last one to arrive, Noah Syndergaard, tossed a gem against the Reds at Citi Field in a 2-1 Mets win. The tall righty struck out five and walked none over eight innings, allowing just a second-inning RBI ground out to tarnish his effort. The Mets have now won two games in a row after dropping seven straight.
