The Mets slugged their way to a 14-1 victory over the Orioles in Baltimore, returning the favor for the drubbing they took at the hands of the Orioles yesterday. Pete Alonso got the Mets on the board right away with a two-run homer in the first inning off Matt Harvey, who did not have a good outing, despite assistance from a highlight reel catch from Cedric Mullins to lead off the game.
The Orioles’ best chance to come back came in the bottom of the first, when they plated a run on two singles to pull within a run.
