It’s unknown what the next triumvirate of games in Miami will bring, but a 11-4 victory in the first game of the series is a good start. The offense was able to overcome a slog of a five-out start from Robert Gsellman and produced a lead for Chasen Shreve, Jeurys Familia, Brad Brach, and Franklyn Kilome to bring home with 7.2 innings of three-run ball.
It was certainly a group-effort as every single hitter in the starting lineup recorded at least one hit and seven different players crossed home plate, but Robinson Canó and Pete Alonso were just a step above the rest of the Metsies.
