Rain may have controlled the fate of yesterday’s planned game, but today’s completed game was in the palm of Marcus Stroman. Giving the bullpen at least half a day off, Stroman worked six of the seven innings played in the Mets’ 1-0 win and, somehow, managed to make the seven-inning contest feel quicker than it already was.
If you were to close your eyes and imagine what an A-tier Marcus Stroman start would look like, you would probably end up picturing something along the lines of his performance today. As per usual, Stroman didn’t strike out the world as he sat down only 3 Rockies, but he racked up 10 of his 15 outs in play via the trusty ground ball.
