The Mets lost to the Marlins, 4-0, in their first game back from their COVID hiatus, as Rick Porcello struggled in three innings of work before an hour-long rain delay and the team’s lineup failed to plate any runs.
In his three innings of work, Porcello gave up four runs, all of which were earned. That leaves him with a 6.43 ERA on the season at the moment. The Mets got plenty of men on base in the game but just weren’t able to convert. The only silver lining here is that Corey Oswalt soaked up four innings—and didn’t allow any runs in the process—after the rain delay to eat up the rest of the Mets’ first-ever scheduled seven-inning game.
