For the second straight day, the New York Mets looked like a deflated baseball team as they were swept by the last-place Miami Marlins. They were shut out for the second straight game and managed just two hits on the afternoon, which is an improvement over yesterday’s one-hit effort, at least.
It’s hard to fault Noah Syndergaard for today’s 3-0 loss. The Mets’ right-hander pitched seven strong innings and needed just 82 pitches to get there. He was charged with two earned runs, which was more runs than can be expected from the slumbering Mets offense.
