On a windy night in Wrigley, the Mets fell 7-4 to the Cubs. Michael Conforto hit the longest Met home run of the statcast era - 472 feet - and Kevin Plawecki also went deep, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Cubs’ offensive outburst. The Mets loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, but Amed Rosario and Austin Jackson both struck out to end the rally.
Noah Syndergaard got beat up in this one, consistently allowing hard contact and walking three in only six innings. It was very much a continuation of his season as a whole, where he hasn’t appeared as dominant as in years past.
