The Mets entered their game with the possibility of being eliminated from playoff contention. Their odds will survive another day, but it certainly isn’t credited to their performance. With Tylor Megill’s continuing home run issues combined with the teams’ continued run-of-any-kind issues, the Brewers handled their business with a 5-1 victory in Milwaukee.
The Mets got four runners on base in the first inning and even loaded the bases with two outs, but Francisco Lindor’s RBI groundout was the only run they could manage for the inning, and eventually for the game. The Brewers matched the run immediately with Kolten Wong leading off the bottom of the first with a home run.
