After an inspiring win in Game 1 of the doubleheader this afternoon, the Mets came out quite flat in Game 2 and lost by a score of 5-0.
Robert Stock took the mound for the first time in the orange and blue, and fared much better than he did against the orange and blue last month. He tossed four solid innings, allowing 2 runs on four hits and two walks, with five strikeouts. His only real blemish was a two-run homer allowed to Manny Piña in the second inning.
Unfortunately, the Mets offense couldn’t back him up at all, getting shut down by Brett Anderson over four innings.
