Noah Syndergaard was hit hard early in tonight’s game and was once again the victim of some timely stolen bases that proved to be costly. After giving up a solo home run to Travis Shaw in the second inning, the real damage came in the third when Lorenzo Cain singled with one out and promptly stole second. He was driven in by Christian Yelich, who also stole second. Travis Shaw singled to drive in Yelich for the Brewers’ third run.
The Mets were able to counter Shaw’s solo home run with one of their own in the top of the third by Amed Rosario.
