The Mets got off to a 1-0 lead early against Brandon Woodruff, who they made work in the first inning, but the bats fell silent after that and it was the only run the Mets would score on the night, dropping the first of this three game series to the Brewers.
Steven Matz wasn’t dominant, but put together a solid outing. He gave up a solo home run to Lorenzo Cain in the bottom of the first and then worked around a lot of baserunners that were mostly the result of soft contact.
