After one of his best games of the season in his last start, Marcus Stroman got touched up a few times against today, whereas rookie pitcher Kyle Muller silenced the Mets’ bats, resulting in a 2-0 loss to open the series against Atlanta.
Stroman got off to a solid start today, pitching two quick shutout innings to get his day started, but he started getting into some trouble in the third. Thanks in part to a misplay on the part of Dominic Smith in left field, Guillermo Heredia made it to second base to lead off the inning, and Muller pulled off a butcher boy to single through the hole in the infield.
