Before the game started, Sunday’s finale with the Astros seemed to be tilted in the Mets’ favor. With their most consistent starter on the mound and a bullpen game for the Astros, the Mets looked poised to easily win the series. But despite a comeback and a long rain delay, the Mets dropped below .500 once again, losing 10-5 to Houston.
Luis Severino started for the Mets and was the recipient of bad luck early on. After a wind-assisted home run by Jon Singleton, the game felt eerily like the 2015 World Series, where the Mets seemed to give up single after single after single for five straight games.
