With Akeel Morris traded to the Atlanta Braves for Kelly Johnson and Beck Wheeler promoted to Las Vegas, David Roseboom took over as Double-A Binghamton’s closer a month ago.
Roseboom, a 17th-round selection in 2014 out of the University of South Carolina Upstate, is 8-for-8 in save conversions since getting the assignment. Opposing batters are hitting .176 against the southpaw in 40 appearances this season.
Roseboom, 24, also handled closing in the South Atlantic League last season. His bigger transition was moving from a starting pitcher in college to exclusively relief work as a professional.
