Right-hander Corey Taylor performed solidly with Brooklyn last summer after getting drafted in the seventh round out of Texas Tech. He is continuing that success in the Florida State League this season. The 23-year-old Taylor is 1-2 with a 1.48 ERA in 25 relief appearances with St. Lucie. He has 12 saves in 13 chances.
Taylor got on pro teams’ radars with his senior season at Texas Tech. He went 4-0 with an NCAA-leading 0.31 ERA in 57u2153 innings.
“You can’t expect to have that year,” Taylor said. “That was a blessing. It was something I’ll never forget, for sure.
