Familia's postseason struggles continue in wild card game

A year after blowing three saves in the World Series, Jeurys Familia's postseason struggles continued as he allowed the go-ahead three-run home run to Conor Gillaspie in Wednesday's 3-0 loss in the wild card game to the San Francisco Giants at Citi Field.

"In any circumstances like that, your first thought is you let your teammates down when all you did all year long was picked them up," manager Terry Collins said. "But in the postseason when you give up and you lose games, it really can be hard on you."

Entering in a scoreless game in the ninth inning, Familia allowed a leadoff double to Brandon Crawford and a one-out walk to Joe Panik to bring up Gillaspie, who hit Familia's 1-1 sinker deep over the right-center field fence to give the Giants a 3-0 lead that Madison Bumgarner would not relinquish.
