ATLANTA -- It may have been the worst birthday present ever. After dominating through the first seven innings Friday night, Jacob deGrom watched it all slip away quickly in the eighth. The Mets righthander got little support and took his first loss in over a month as the Braves rallied for a 2-1 win at Turner Field.
After holding the Braves (33-35) scoreless for seven innings and working easily with such a fine margin of error because of a lack of offense these days, deGrom gave up a leadoff double to Andrelton Simmons.
