NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Tens of thousands of Mets fans were on their feet as the son of a fallen NYPD firefighter threw out the first pitch before Wednesday night’s Wild-Card game.
CBS2’s Tony Aiello reports the Mets honored FDNY Deputy Chief Michael Fahy before the game against the Giants. Fahy was killed in the line of duty last week in a house explosion in the Bronx.
Fahy’s wife and three kids were at the game as Michael Jr. brought down the house when he threw out the first pitch.
“Nice moment, beautiful,” said fan Greg Packer.
