Jacob deGrom might not miss a start after an MRI exam showed no structural damage after the right-hander left Wednesday’s game with a hyperextended right elbow.
“There’s nothing wrong with him,” manager Mickey Callaway said Thursday. “He’s gonna try to make his start on Monday.”
Callaway said deGrom can resume playing catch on Friday and the Mets will monitor him.
“It felt good to hear that news,” Callaway said.
DeGrom felt something in his elbow after swinging at a pitch in the bottom of the third inning Wednesday.
