EXCLUSIVE: Mets amazing season big hit with Citi's charity

It's not just long-suffering Mets fans benefiting from the Amazin’s surprise first-place season.

Banking behemoth Citi, namesake of the Mets’ home field, had promised at the beginning of the season to donate $2,000 to charity for every home run at Citi Field.

The team hit an impressive 85 home runs at Citi Field during the regular season — including outfielder Curtis Granderson’s home run Sunday that gave the team the lead and eventual win. It was the highest number of round-trippers since the charity began, bringing the pot to a whopping $190,000, including the initial $20,000 donation.
