The Atlanta Braves have added depth to their infield, signing a recently-released New York Met.
On Friday, the New York Post reported that the Braves signed Adeiny Hechavarría. The Mets released the veteran infielder this week after signing now-former San Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik. The signing of Panik came after Robinson Canó hit the injured list with a torn hamstring.
Panik has played seven games thus far for the Mets, usually hitting in the eight-hole in the batting order. He’s come in as a pinch hitter in numerous games as well.
