Anthony Recker has found a new home with the Indians.
The former Mets backup catcher signed a minor league deal with Cleveland on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, according to multiple reports.
Recker, 32, became a minor-league free agent after he cleared waivers and was removed from the Mets’ 40-man roster on Nov. 6.
With the arrival of Kevin Plawecki last season, Recker played in just 32 games, hitting .125 with two homers and five RBIs.
Recker sent multiple tweets saying he enjoyed his time in New York but is looking forward to beginning a new chapter in Cleveland.
