Jessica Mendoza missed ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” broadcast from San Francisco because the analyst was in a car accident Friday.
Mendoza, who is also a Mets’ baseball operations adviser, had her car rear-ended at full speed while driving on the Southern California freeway, according to USA Today. She is expected to return to the air next week after missing the Giants-Phillies game Sunday.
Ben Cafardo, ESPN communications director, tweeted about the incident Sunday night. He wrote that Mendoza is in recovery after a “scary ordeal” and that he hopes to see her in Williamsport, Pa.
