Edwin Díaz’s horrific struggles continued and he blew his third straight game in the Mets heartbreaking 10-9 loss to the Marlins. He gave up four runs in the ninth topped off by Josh Bell’s three-run home run. Miami came into this series dead last in the league in offense but they had no issues scoring many, many runs in both games of this series so far.
The Mets offense actually broke out too after getting blanked in the previous game. They immediately put two on the board against starter Braxton Garrett but it wasn’t until the fifth that they were able to put together a big inning.
