Edgin assigned to Triple-A Las Vegas

Josh Edgin was recalled from his rehab assignment and assigned to Triple-A Las Vegas, the Mets announced.

His fastball velocity was only 87-88 mph during his most recent rehab appearance.

Edgin is 3-3 with a 3.20 ERA in 115 relief innings for the Mets during his career, after which he had Tommy John surgery in early 2014.

My hunch was that the Mets would just keep Edgin in Triple-A, since there is no immediate need or spot in the big-league bullpen. More importantly, I don't think the Mets believe he's 100 percent ready for action.
